Our Club is proud to be a member of one of the largest and oldest volunteer women's organizations in the world -- General Federation of Women's Clubs. We are mothers and daughters, business and community leaders, and women of diverse interests, talents, and backgrounds -- all united by a dedication to community improvement through volunteer service.
Our meetings are held from September through May on the 2nd Friday of the month. We have speakers who educate us on programs, public affairs, home life and conservation. We also discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities and community events.
Our club participates in various volunteer activities. This includes helping with hometown pride cleanup, donating to the Domestic Violence Center and Dress for Success programs, sewing seatbelt protectors, and assisting with Sleep in Heavenly Peace. These are just a few of the many projects we're involved with. The club's list of volunteer activities grows and changes yearly.
The money we raise is given back to worthy organizations, as well as one local student is awarded a $500 scholarship to assist with college expenses. Additionally, we sponsor local students for the opportunity to receive a $1,000 scholarship from our state organization.
